A few months ago, I was browsing Pintrest when I came across a pin that showed how to fold clothes and store them. I was immediately drawn to it, not only because it was so neat and one was able to fit more clothes in a particular space, but because you could easily identify every piece of clothing in the drawer.
I then came across Marie Kondo’s book, who popularised this way of folding. I’ve converted all our drawers and it’s been great. Now, when the kids choose their outfits the night before (more info found here), they can easily find the tee shirt they want or rediscover a pair of shorts they haven’t worn in a while.
To recreate this drawer, you will need to change the way you fold. Instead of folding items for them to lay flat, you want them to stand upright. Essentially, you want each item to be folded into a rectangle at the right size for the depth of your drawer. Marie states that the more folds the item requires, the less wrinkled it will be when ready for wear.
Here are a few examples on how to fold items into rectangles:
Long sleeved tops
T shirts
Socks
Try it… you’ll never go back =)
This is the best idea i have ever seen! Definitely organising this this weekend!

Haha but you have to remember that I took this photo and many photos are styled before the camera clicks. Trust me, it’s not always this neat!
